I have just put another thread up...we are doin ok but I am terrified!
I have put Rosie back out (been out a week now) in her patch around shelter which I have made a little bigger each day, she still walking slow (although it is slippy n muddy so I think she is busy trying to stay upright lol) The others have grazed down a good third of the field now but I am terrified to let her out of her patch even into the grazed strip with the others! Her hooves are cooler and she is off all pain killers now. Just on hay am and pm, bran with formula4feet mixed in once a day. She seems happy to be back out but I am scared! She did follow me through to the big srtip yestersday and started to graze, it then took me ten minutes for me to catch her, in fact she looked quite good in trot, still a little lame but much faster.......a far cry from a month a go when she was refusing to move......does this sound like good progress three and a half weeks on?
I feed Happy hoof so they get their vits out of that - I would say keep it simple - don't change her feed too much just add the lammiprone to her normal feed and watch the grass intake which you are doing with the muzzle.
Will be interesting to see if you note a change in her shape and weight - we have with all of ours. You can get Powder or liquid - I have used both, I use the powder form now. a 1kg tub lasts all 3 about 5 weeks. Acorn 150kg gets 1/2 scoop morning and night, Charlie at 280/90kg gets 3/4 scoop morning and night and Tess at around 375 gets 1 scoop morning and night ( shes never had lammi but was huge coming out of winter so we put her on it as a preventative and her weight is down and her shape good).
The lammiprone is supposed to assist and enable them to stay out without the muzzle, we have never used muzzles and just manage their access to the ammount they can take in, once you get past the spring growth flush then you could try her for periods without the muzzle and see how she reacts
by then the lammi prone will be in her system and working.
