I'm the same @Trewsers , buying clothes online I have to convert to inches, horses are always in hands, and distances are miles. Temperatures are centigrade though and I have no preference between pints and litres. No logic to it at all

I was at school but for horses it's geti and inches. Girths and rugs etc.
I have to double check the girth length if its sold in cms

A pint is less than a litre isn't it, no idea the cider comes in a pint glass

Saying that I bumped into a lady this morning whose bedroom is 34 and they are having to sleep in the kitchen floor!!! These new build houses are so insulated to keep the heat in they are ovens with this heat.

Been a bit cooler today, with the breeze. Finished the sheep at 1pm and ive stayed inside since. The sun will still be strong enough to burn me. The added wind makes it deceptive.
Weather breaking for us on Friday, but no sign of any proper rain for the next fortnight. Oh well kids break up next week so we must be due some rain soon and probably for the next six weeks.

Just about right here on Orkney for me. I don't like it too hot. I wouldn't want to spend time upstairs today as the heat rises and its boiling up there. Down here in the living room and kitchen it is fine. Our bedroom is downstairs which I'm glad about too. I've got lots of laundry drying upstairs - I don't have a washing line outside. Last time I had one of those it ended up full of kittens messing with the washing (its eight years ago lol they are all grown up now!).
And it isn't too hot to do the ironing either lol I've just done a week's worth of t shirts. Hurrah summer has come at last! No more hoodies for a while.

In 1995 which was a scorcher back when we lived in Lancs I considered sleeping on the floor in the living room it was that back in our first house. I remember being late for work more than once as oversleeping became a habit. I was like a zombie that summer!
Keep seeing lots of posts about wildfires, crops and combines going up in smoke. Seems more than normal.
Tis warm here today and the horse flies are out in full force. Horrid things that they are. I don't know the actual temperature here but it feels about 19 or 20. Which after ten years living here feels hot to me. Wouldn't have touched the sides when I lived south. I've just let everyone back into their houses. Even in fly sheets they were miserable and dancing around.
It was cold this morning, almost needed a jumper. But this afternoon complete change temperature really went up.
I wonder if we'll get an early autumn? The much cooler morning today - Luka had his coat slightly fluffed up! - almost had that feel to it even though it's July and the sensible part of me says it's just cooler relative to the unusual heat we've had. There are decent sized hazelnuts in the hedges though, I've seen some ripe blackberries, and some of the farmers have been combining for three weeks now.
I think haymay be a problem again, though round hr lcal fb pages are advertising it for sale off the field at reasonable prices. Itdoesn't help that we've not stopped feeding it this year, I think there's very little of last years hay anywhere near me now.

Although there were some advertising 2 months ago advising to book new seasons now, we can hold it for you and quoting prices quite high.
I've seen a few selling last years just recently. Clearly they were holding onto it probably thinking there was going to be another bad year this year.
