We need to live in the here and now, with a bit of sensible preparation.
We have 39 cases, more will pop up as we still have people abroad.
The police are being stretched now escorting people and staying outside the quarantine in case anyone tries to leave.

Poor you, you are in the same boat as I am, that's three orders cancelled in the last week
Eventually mr t and me will be affected job wise. Nobody is going to care very much about having a room designed are they?! Lol there are bigger fish to fry and all that. I'm making hay whilst the sun shines. Cos it may well not shine for very long!!!!

Yeah I'll bet nursing / care homes will be hit hard. Normal bugs are bad enough spreading in those places. Where my Dad was if one person got poorly lots more caught it quickly.
There are a lot of drugs that compromise people's immune systems too.
Half the commercials on tv anymore are for drugs.

@horseandgoatmom I don't know about where you are but here I don't see adverts for prescription drugs, only ones you can buy over the counter. I think it's a good thing that more information on what drugs are available, both prescription and over the counter, nowadays it must be very hard for doctors to keep up to date with what drugs are available and I don't see what the problem is with a patient asking about using a drug, the doctor can always say no.
@carthorse she's in the usa and I think drugs are advertised differently over there and many more items are available with and without prescriptions. I think sometimes it can be hard to tell what is genuine and what is not on that basis. And yes you can discuss with your gp but not all gp's are wanting to discuss - and they do often say no. Bit like vets on that score (but I'm going off at a tangent here lol) not all made equal......
Don't forget almost 50,000 people have already recovered from the virus. And those are only the ones who have been officially diagnosed, there is likely many more than that.

I'm not sure how your network tv differs from ours. But sometimes it seems the program is the filler for the commercials.
I totally understand wanting to feel informed and yes a doctor I hope can and will say No.
Now on the other hand maybe It DOES have its good points. I MOSTLY fast foreward thru them all. BUT sometimes I say to myself No way would I take that.
and i think to myself i hope i never come down

The worse I ever saw was back to back
Commercial for some drug then
Gessh the next commercial was a lawyeys commercial about the EXACT SAME DRUG....
We have another school closed now as of noon news.. Family was to Italy now one child has come down with symptoms but its not the sick child but a sibling that goes to the school.
They are not taking chances .
It sounds like its a younger than school
Age child
But if mommy and daddy are not also quarrentined and out of the public
As well it will be shutting the barn door
After the horse has left.

We won't get prescription drugs advertised. To be honest a lot of products float over my head.
Our pharmacy have a lot behind the counter. And I can recall the vet saying if you can just pick it up off the shelf, it either won't work or you don't need it.
As I am on long term meds I never think to take anything else unless I really need to. But I do have what I call emergency still trying to function Neurofen.

Now the sue culture I don't agree with. Presumably drugs are properly tested before going on the market, with a list of known side effects made available. That being the case you accept the risks when you choose to take the drugs. The only ways there should be a possible case is if tests were falsified, known side effects weren't mentioned or new data came to light and information wasn't updated.

I’m a bit scared by the whole thing. I’ve had so many nasty chest infections and pneumonia. Respiratory things knock me for 6. I also worry for my dad who’s health isn’t the best and has COPD.
I am considering bringing my mum here as at the moment she lives at home and has carers in 4 times a day, quite how either of us will survive long term living together is another matter. Concerned about my OH as he has heart issues as well. My friend's major event in London has now been cancelled but she is flying out to a festival in Luxemburg next week and then intends to self isolate on her return. totally daft, she is likely to meet up with lots of folks from Europe who will have been to Italy or in contact with other folks from Italy. And so far this week we have not had a single order, following 3 cancellations late last week, so financially we are feeling the effect now. Had just ordered lots of stock - still to pay for - as this is our busiest time, particularly as folks spend end of year budgets - and now nothing selling at all.
