I’m trying to catch up on reading.
@Kite_Rider no it sure isn’t you. I would keep a written log of theirs and their dog’s antics and pictures when possible. That way, when you have to call the police, there won’t be any of that “we said, they said” baloney.
I am so thankful to have great neighbors up and down this road.
I’ve been busy overthinking and losing sleep over the shots I had to give Duncan on Saturday for the tick bite inflammation on his chest. I haven’t had to give shots to anyone for 20 years, so I hit up a vet video on YouTube after I gave my vet the bobbing dog head of “oh yes, I can do this if you say I have to, so I don’t have a $60 farm call”

My closest fence neighbor works for Animal Control; she is so swest and kind, I don’t know how she gets thru the Days she has to go out on abuse and neglect calls. Anyway, she possesses a very calm demeanor that DH does not, so she came over to hold Duncan while I gave him this two shots.
Bless that precious horse never budged one iota — just put his head on her chest and kept it there until I gave him both shots.
Which that Excede is thick, so thick it took both of my arthritic hands to push the syringe down

. I was so glad she came over to help because I could not have held onto Duncan and given that Excede shot. The steroid was clear liquid and went quickly.
She was telling me of two open animal cases. One involving the confiscation of 42 (forty-two) dogs, another with 20+ horses that the idiot people let them breed at will. There is so little forage and food, even the foals are skinny because the mares have nothing to give them. The state vet is involved but our even more stupid state laws are preventing confiscation of the herd. Animal Control has to go thru paperwork channels & jump thru hoops and in the meantime the foals may die.
My neighbor offered her own money to buy the foals but the owners said no, because they don’t see any issues. The horses have water of sorts and hay that is full of weeds - what else could they possibly need.
