Haway all, Ziggy here.
Sure it's been ages since I posted in my hacking diary. First I had this appalling tummy ache, you wouldn't believe it, and got whipped off to some place where I had to stand in a stable all day and get stuck with needles. Then I came home, which was great, but then I got really sore feet and mum made me stand in a patch of dust all day, which was not great. I've been feeling better for a while, but I hardly ever see mum, she's always stressy and in a hurry and we haven't been out much.
Anyway today it rained for the first time in ages and I had the most brilliant roll. It was fab.
Mum made funny cursing noises when she saw me but it didn't take her much more than half an hour to clean a saddle patch off.
She led me up the road and up the steep stony hill, which is good cos it hurts my feet otherwise. Then at the top of the hill she hopped on from the wrong side, which is always good for a laugh, and off we went.
We walked to start with along the pretty top track:
Everything was fine, so we had a trot up a little hill and then even a little canter along the sandy flat. It was fun and my feet didn't hurt. I stepped out a bit better today, it was a lovely cool day and I quite enjoyed myself.
On the way back mum let the reins go all sloppy to see if I would hurry. But I didn't, I was so chilled she could take a picture while I ambled along:
Then when we were nearly home she turned me to go up to the big posh school. Well that was a step too far, I'm telling you. The wind was blowing a gale, and the grass and the trees were whacking about, and there's a really scary old shed full of pony eating monsters. So I had a good spook and a spin and tried to canter home, but mum made me go in circles until I stopped. :stomp: What's a pony to do?
We weren't out long but I was really tired when I got home...
