I'm very excited, we've got Minnie staying with us. IMG_20221215_221205.jpg
She's a stray, someone was feeding her but noticed that she's very pregnant and given how cold it's been they contacted a charity.

She came into work to board as the charity don't have any available foster homes something that would rarely happen before but now is constant.

She's due any day now and I'm very excited, she's a lovely cat but very young herself to be having a litter. Torn between being excited to have her and meet them all to being sad that she's in this situation in the first place.

Aw what a sweetie! I am with you on the sad that she's having kittens, but so so glad that she's got you in her life. What a lucky cat, and I hope that all goes well. I hope her kittens can be rehomed too.

I didn't see our Mackerals kittens until they were about a month old - she just disappeared (we thought she was a boy:rolleyes:) and then one day she showed up in the barn with all 6 of them! Needless to say after that we trapped and neutered her and the babies once they were old enough.

She's a wonderful cat, stolen my heart already. Thanks to the generosity of people I know she now has all she could ever want in this world with so many toys to play with, beds, scratchers and a wonderful cat tree.

Of course her favourite thing to do is still lie on her side and pull herself along the bottom of to sofa like a maniac 😂 it's a very old sofa which has seen years of dogs and all sorts so it's no problem at all, I just wish she would be a bit more careful given her massive belly!

Are you going to keep her?
The temptation is huge but realistically I don't think we can. We live on a busy road and I lost a cat that way previously, not here though but I did say I'd never get another cat that went out. We have cookie who is my landladies who lives upstairs but she never ventures outside the garden. Perhaps if we kept her in but I'm not sure that's right for her. I also like that we can foster if needed going forward.

Ours are all indoor cats bar the two older boys who never venture out of the garden unlike the one who was killed outside the stables on a country lane. They are quite happy inside, the only problem is that you can't ever open windows. But we manage. Hope she gets on ok i used to be homing officer for cats protection branch and collected Kitkat who was very pregnant. took her to vet, she was supposed to go to pens, but brought her home and she had 3 kitties that night. Kept her as when folks came to rehome the kittens she refused to engage with them as she wasn't going anywhere, she lived with us till she was 22
