I love this pattern around Washington's Eyes.
He is the only "CLOWN" I like.
It reminds me of the whiteface harlequin clowns with frilly neck jumpsuits and little pointed hats.
They always have speckles and diamonds or teardrops around their eyes..
But in general I HATE CLOWNS...big time
As a kid I was Terrified by the famous Ringling clown EMMETT KELLY ugh he had a dentist kit came at me with big oversize pliers..everyone was laughing except me..
I dove under the chair...
Then I got scared again just going to ugh see
Bozo the clown...
So clowns are a real low point for me...
EXCEPT LITTLE WASHINGTON..
HE LOVES TO RUN IN FRONT OF YOU BLOCK YOUR WAY..
BUTT RUBS MOMMY.....
You rub his cute bottom then try to walk away...he runs ahead of you blocking your way again.

@horseandgoatmom I‘m not fond of clowns either but I love Washington’s clown colors
I love the motifs and colour combinations in Fair Isle knitting, but I am not keen on actually knitting it myself. So I confine myself to hats and sometimes mitts or gloves. Anyway, this is a hat I knitted for my sister in law.
I wouldn’t even know where to start with a fair isle pattern, despite coming from a long line of excellent knitters. I love this hat, your SIL is a lucky lady.
