Yesterday I met a grab lorry on a particularly tight single track road, the driver was brilliant, pulled over, turned her engine off and waited until we were well past before restarting. I sent an email of thanks to Travis Perkins.

This morning I’ve heard it was definitely received, they were having a health and safety meeting with overhead slide’s when my email came through to that computer so everyone saw it 😂 couldn’t have been better timing!

thank you buddy for a lovely 1 hour hack today, 3 spectacular spooks just to keep me alert. And the horse i was having on loan with a view to buy is now sold so looks like you are staying the main man.

And thank you left knee for packing up so that i can hardly walk today - off to osteo on tuesday. But once the pain relief kicked in, i felt ok so as it was a beautiful autumn morning i decided to ride Buddy again - he does not normally do two days on the trot. He was amazed to see the laybyes for the windfarm blades - quite a lot of huffing and puffing to get past them, then he got onto the track that the racehorses use and saw them in the distance. So we went into hunt ride bounce mode. We bounced all the way back, I had intended to get off and walk him up the hill but he power walked up it. Came home dripping wet, been cleaned up, given second breakfast with a bit more danilon and off he went out. For a 28 year old he is daft as a brush, just hope he hasn't over done it.

And the old boy Buddy was fine when he sauntered in at night, groomed all the sweat off him and rugged him, ate a very large dinner.

Doing my bit for the wildlife. This morning when i went to move the cows there was 6 female and 1 male pheasant all making use of the hay bale that the cows were about to eat for breakfast. They had spead the bale out from where i put it in the field a few days ago. I have to take the strings off just incase a cow gets under the single strand of wire there contained in and goes for a munch. Dont want them eating strings. So pheasants made full use of bale spreading it out to nest in. Was too slow for a photo. They blended in nicely with the hay. Saw me coming over and moved away before i realised. Theres other bales dotted ready for the next few days so i shall see if they make use of them too.

Robin is bored and thinks he is hilarious. He's not hilarious! He has for a while though it was funny to play with opening the lid of the box chest outside the next door stable. This escalated to if he wanted attention (which is most of the time) he would flip the lid open and shut alot. Now this has escalated to not only opening the box, but rummaging around and taking stuff out of the box and chucking them about! I had twice found something outside his door and gave him the benefit of the doubt that he has simply knocked it off the top of the box. Today he had removed even more stuff. Big trouble young man. Owner of box will not be imptessed. So I have provided a rope for the closure so my trouble maker can plan his next trick.

Its my birthday this month. I think i might be shopping for another pony as a present to myself!

A nice youngster for when my main man starts to slow down. How exciting!

@Tir please dont put birthday present to myself ideas in my head. I will not join you in the horse hunt. No no no i refuse to have another horse just now. I cannot do 3 horses.
Someone suggested about me buying a youngster to bring on earlier this week. I had to tell them it was a bad idea.
My idea of having a younger horse to replace my older boy all went wrong when he got his hock injury. I would love another horse, i so miss the riding but im so worried about it going all wrong and having 3 out of action horses.

My sister and i ended up with 6 in our herd! They are usually considerate enough to take it in turns. The more you have the better the odds!

Got my current main man as an 18 month old colt and aside from not loving the dressage like I do and trying to kill himself twice he is wonderful!

The jump from 1 horse ro 2 horses was huge. The jump from 2 to 3 almost nothing.

Buy a pony as well! ;)

Went to look at the home offered for Sapphire at a local charity - not going there. Wouldn't suit her at all. Horses were dull, lights out. One of them i looked at and thought mid 20s, dipped back, no topline, turned out was only 15......Nice big stables but no separation between them so she would be hassled all the time. Felt they needed a good shake to update stuff -information on each horse, if i had gone there would i learn anything about heavy horses. No. Just some b ig horses stuck in stables and some carts and equipment, no real story telling. The horses are in to be viewed, so they are stnading in all day, do they go out at night? Couldn't identify any of the staff, no one wearing any uniform or badges. Didn't bother trying to find anyone. She would lose her sparkle there. So write it off.

@Tir you're in danger of a ban for being a very bad example 🤣 🤣 🤣

(Before anyone gets up in arms I am joking)
