I'm ancient. I have a cob and a pony. The cob is rideable but I rarely bother riding these days. I enjoy doing inhand agility things. Wish I had a ménage.been a horse owner for over fifty years. Used to do showing classes many many years ago.
Just wanted to post an update and share that taking up riding is absolutely the best thing I've ever done. Lessons at my riding school get booked up quickly and my work schedule makes it tricky to arrange regular lessons, but happily, I've just completed my 17th lesson and have another 4 booked for May, which I'm really excited about. Slow progress, but worth it. My muscles are less achey with each visit and currently working hard to improve my rising trot and my instructor says I'm nearly there... I guess I've got the horse bug baaaaad! (this is an itch I wish I'd scratched years ago, but better late than never, right?) and now I just want to spend as much time in the saddle as possible (if I had my way, it would be all day, everyday! Haha) I'm committed to my new-found passion indefinitely and hope to be cantering soon (and maybe one day have my own horse). Thanks for the supportive commentsHi! I'm Phil, I'm in my early-mid forties and (after many years of daydreaming about the idea but feeling self-conscious) finally decided to take up horse riding! I had my first lessons last week and again today and have absolutely loved it more than I imagined! I don't know if I can say 'I'm a horse rider' yet (or how many lessons guantify that?) Buy I have 3 more booked and have bought some gear (jods, boots and hat) so I guess maybe? Anyway, really happy to start my new adventure in the saddle (I've just finished playing football, so timing is good as I need a new keep-fit activity)

Amazing! It takes a lot of courage to pick up a new hobby/skill as an adult, especially one which can be dangerous, but it’s so worth it to have that connection with horses and to get that feeling of being on top of the word!Just wanted to post an update and share that taking up riding is absolutely the best thing I've ever done. was around pre 2010After a very long absence, I am planning my return to the world of horses and thought I'd see if my login still worked - and it does! Don't know if anyone from pre-2010 is still on here? Anywho, hello to you all and I look forward to being a part of this community again![]()
Welcome!I'm Lys. They/She.
Right now I'm more of a horse enthusiast than a rider or anything like that (although I did do some equine therapy when I was around 4 but it wasn't actual lessons). I hope that's okay.
