2016.... Tracking Challenge( hours -ridden/inhand) add your photos as well

Mostly a disheartening weekend for me. I had Friday off work and had a lesson on Harvey. It went ok - we did lots on work on trying to get him go in a straight line. On Saturday we hacked around the block - he was even more reluctant than usual and we covered the first half mile in bursts of 10 paces at a time after which he finally decided he could keep going. We went in the school on Sunday after which he decided he couldn't possibly manage to walk back to his stable without being lead.

Weird ride.
Glorious sunshine and blue sky. Warm enough for just a tabard, felt odd after coats. It was 3° in the sun but areas without it were icy.
A few routes are unusable in very icy conditions but today were not frozen.

Well I don't think I have ridden since the games day what with one thing and another..... but ivbought Melody in today gave my bog monster a unusally quick groom ( saddle area and feet picked out) normally spend ages grooming its therapeutic..... by today I had a lift with Sophie so we had a ride in the grass school.

I am still smiling.... I am at peace with the world.... I really have missed riding... Melody was very forward so we did some work on brakes and rein back and trying to halt square but we weren't good at that lol

The farrier came this am hes not popping an abscess- but he was getting better not worse so
I did not think it was.
HE is almost back to normal and the bruise the vet found seems to be all healed up.

So It seems it may have been a combo of getting the bruise and possibly twisting or turning funny.

I will probably just boot all around from now on.

I've given up taking Harvey in the school for now, and I am working on establishing who is herd leader while hacking. I had a lesson on Friday to help with this and then hacked out on my own on Saturday and Sunday. It all went quite well, so hopefully we will go a bit further next week

Well i rode walk and trotvtoday for 45 mins,.... I think I have my mono back..... going to try ride most days now even during the winter..... I am working on my fitness at home and on the field :) got someone new helping with the ponies and it means most of them are getting worked too.
I think we all lose our mojo at times.
I get on with a longrein session on one of those days. It's a good work out for both of you.
Our fields are a bit wet, we really need the temp to drop down to 5.

Harvey has been here 7 weeks now. On Saturday we only had a small battle to leave the yard (a big improvement) and he was going well enough for me to join my 2 previous hacking routes together to make a 4.5 mile loop which he went round without any great drama (just one attempt to spin and run). On Sunday I got a rare change to hack in company and took the chance to go under a railway bridge I had had issues with before. We also went on the road over the motorway. The motorway below is incredibly noisy - I was a bit shocked. Harvey coped reasonably well, but I think it will be a while before I can make that trip without company.

Glad the ride went well!!
Highways can be very loud when I rode the neighborhood at the old house.
Way down in back had a marshy area beyond those houses and then the highway - I was shocked at how
loud that highway was back there.

Its odd here lol There is a racetrack (cars) about 15 miles from here so its not out the back door
and if the wind it right and the day I did the trail ride in the forest across the street you could hear the cars going round the track like it was right next door!
It is kind of funny to hear on weekend evenings so loudly when it s soooooooo far away
HMMM must be nastily loud if your close to it????
Car racing does not float my boat so I have never been there.

Had a schooling session. I actually cannot remember the last time I did. Probably sometime in the summer.
Just half hour. We are what appears to be the word of the today, "transitioning." :)

I jumped a very small jump a few times in the new saddle just to get an overall feel for it. Girth has to go. Cob did say twice but I had to discover for myself. Next time will pop the jump back up to our usual warm up height, different girth.
