Hello all, sorry that my first ever post is an advertisement but we're getting sort of desperate at this point.

Background:
As part of my University course, I am expected to design, run and manage an Equine based event to generate a profit for charity. However it was meant to start on Wednesday and I've had 0 interested people inquire into it, so... I'm now I'm having to bother other people.Event pstr.png

Your poster doesn't actually say it's a charity fundraiser, and it isn't even completely finished (what is the instructors full name?), and it doesn't really specify if this gains you the full BHS stage 2 certification or if it just informational only? this may be some of the reasons you haven't had much participation, also a lot of people are struggling during these difficult times and 80 quid is a lot of money for some.

I dont take BHS exams. But, thanks to Covid, there is a massive amount of highly specialised further education available on line. Most of it is free. But on line education demands intense concentration. Your sessions should be much shorter.
Try following some on line lectures and the question and answer sessions yourself, so you know what it is like.

People do respond to equine charity appeals during lock down but that is a different category from education. And especially different from education geared to one particular course and for which there are text books and course companions on sale from amazon.

Some well known TV presenters of academic documentaries are charging for their Covid lock down programme but to be honest, I dont pay. I have no funding and there is so much available free.

Look on face book and Youtube too to see what is being offered both free and for a charge.

I have to be honest, I wouldn't book a place on that course based on that advert.

For one, basic proof reading and grammar mistakes always put me off. As Jessey points out - the surname of the course leader is missing for one. I'd like a bit more information about the course leader - who they are, their qualifications etc.

I don't think your dates are right either. You say it starts Wednesday but the date given is the 22nd of February - which is today, a Monday.

The background is a bit distracting for me too - it doesn't seem to have any relevance to the course content.

There's no mention of it being for charity either.

It's missing a lot of information IMHO too. If I was to take this course, what would I get? At the end of the course could I go out and sit my BHS Stage 2 stable management at the end?

I would disagree that the length needs to be shorter - I've attended similiar length online sessions and the timing is about average.

It's a fairly saturated market at the moment and I think you need to make it stand out.

Think about where you are advertising it too. Is it on FB as a FB event?

The riding school have shared the stage 1 advert so can they not share yours?

As well as the above comments I would include your university email so people can contact you to ask questions :)

Honestly the entire thing had to be slapped together by me and me alone on very short notice, any lack of information you see on the poster is a result of me not being given the information to put on it :(

Unfortunately it doesn't matter anymore. The online event was cancelled as far as I am aware, due to the fact that the Riding School in question can now open to the public again.
Believe me I wish I knew what was coming next, the story changes every 5 minutes as to whether it will be a fully virtual event or in-person.

If I get any more information regarding if the thing is actually happening, I will post it here.
