    Hi all

After being horse crazy since a little girl, I decided to buy a mother/daughter share for my 10yr old and I.

We looked around and settled on a 4yr old 'black' cob (who is actually a bay in the light of summer). He's currently standing at 13hh and I wondered if you guys think he will grow much more? He's already taller than when we bought him... ideally, I should be on a 14.2 because I am 5'2 and just below 12stone . Do you guys think looking at him he might just grow that little bit more for me? He's not struggling with my weight and seems happy enough if a bit green lol.

My first thought is if you wanted a 14.2hh, ideally you needed to get a pony standing at 14hh now.
    He will definately fill out.

Depends the breeding really. Some cobs grow up the way until they are 5/6 some stop at 4 but get wider which In turn takes up your leg :)

Whats the old trick, measure (any horse over a year old) from the elbow to the ground, then take that from the elbow up and it will give a good estimation of final adult height. But honestly at 4 you generally only get another inch or two at best.

Trouble is mine has short legs. A 12.3hh had longer legs than her.:D
She should have made 15.2hh but didn't.

Lol every adult I've tried it on was about right (as in equal floor to elbow and elbow to wither) was pretty accurate with mine when they were young too, within an inch or two.
