Hi folks!

I just noticed that the current issue of Your Horse has the first of Heathers Articles in, which is nice to see!

If you've read it, what do you think? My feeling was -- far too brief!! :( -- although on the positive side, that means that the series will last longer :)

Yes, Your Horse does come from England and I can recommend it and if you aren't in England i'm sure you could get hold of it somehow. I am a keen reader of the magazine and hope that someday I will get my own horse so that I can do all the things in the articles.

Karin, I've found copies of Your Horse in some of the larger bookstores in the US. It is a very good publication, and I will definitely look for this month's edition so I can see Heather's article!

Actually folks, I am not writing the articles! Lesley bayley the Editor is. She is a teacher pupil of mine, as she likes to do a spot of teaching for her own pleasure, but had become very frustrated with the teaching system, which like so many of you, she feels is not as good as it could be.

I have known Lesley for some years, having periodically written series for the magazine. Having seen me work with the simulator, Lesley wanted to learn my teaching methods, and is writing a year long series. It promises to be quite a hard hitting series, promoting a more thoughtful attitude to the training of horse and rider.

Hope you enjoy it folks! (By the way, Your Horse is doing a weekend at Warwickshire College on May 21st and 22nd, open to all who are interested, with various talks, demos and stands. I will be there with the simulator

Hi Karl - finally tracked down a copy of 'Your Horse' and like you, wished it was longer. One of the bits I really liked - and agreed with - was the section on the language used by instructors: often the words they use are confusing rather than revealing. But i'ts great to hear from Heather that the series will run all next year.

Sorry - I should have said that it's "by" Lesley, although it's definitely "all" Heather, if that makes sense!! :)

If you can hear Lesley - Sorry!! (After she bought me a pint earlier in the year too! ;))

Fran - Hopefully it will develop as the year goes on. I don't think it will hold any surprises for any of the folks here who know Heather, but it would be nice to think that it will rock a few firmly held opinions across the country amongst the general public and the BHS leadership ;)
