im trying to decide which saddle bags would be better for me.
ive already got a cantle bag like this http://www.performanceequestrian.co.uk/cat/cat020100x-item_0.html

but i want a pommel bag for the all important chocolate i need when im out (low blood sugar) and my bits and pieces i need to grab quickly when im out (like a map when i get lost!)
ive seen these 2

the obvious difference is price. i like the first one as its got lots of pockets to ut theings in, and it has clips so i can be opened easily. downside is that its suede material.
the second one is cheaper and made of waterproof nylon stuff.
harder to open and no pockets.

im stuck. what do you think?:)

I'd personally have the bottom ones for a nice hack out, perhaps just a 2-4hr hack when I don't need a lot of stuff. The top one seems a good long term bag. If I did some hardcore endurance (which I hope to do in the future) then i'd go for that one.

I'm sure suede can be proofed too?

hopefully il be doing days out when/if we get our new piece of land, and im panning on doing endurance and fun rides and hacks out through forests and such.
im not sure if suede can be proofed, possibly can be, most things can.

We have a similar type to the bottom ones made by Zilco and they are really good dont really have any problems opening them even on the go. We used a similar type on our spanish riding hoilday and were out for around 4-5 hours a day and managed to get lunch, camera, drinks bottle and fags in them! Ours can be used front or back of saddle quite good really.
