The Boys!

What a lovely day yesterday! It was actually dry till about 3pm which was a surprise.

Rode both boys. Had a lesson with D and making inroads on the wild canter transition. He is still keeping his halo on mostly.

Link to a little clip:

Then took the coloured boy out for a 2 hour hack with some friends. Mostly road work as everything offroad is a soggy bog, but we all had fun. Studying the instructions...

Another lesson today. The amount of rain and our school is suffering but D was still a really good boy.

Working on the canter some more. Its so big he finds it hard to balance and Im not used to it either.

Little clip of our bad rein. He tries so hard and there is so much potential in this horse!

What a beautiful day today was!

Lovely long hack with the coloured one, bridle ways are still mostly bog, but we found a nice route to do none the less. Happy ears and a cracking view.

Then exciting times as D left the ground for the first time with me. Olympics here we come. :D

In all seriousness he was very good playing with poles today and I had a nice time with him.

So Ive got a pro to come out to ride him once a week to do 'new' things and install a whole bunch of confidence.

This was her first ride on him on Friday.

What a good boy! She then took him for a trot around our huge open field to cool him off when ive only walked him about and he was good as gold.

Then exciting day sunday as the hunt was by so no work then. The boys all get too wired to make it worth it and act like a pack.

I recall the day mine did her first trot over a little cross as well. Lovely.

So 3rd ride with the pro tonight and he was super! She was very pleased with the change since last week, but her riding him and me watching is doing me the world of good to ask a bit more and be a bit more brave!

And finally the sun is out! And he got a new bridle. Will need a noseband to go out dressaging.

What a fab weekend in amongst cleaning my old house to hopefully have completed on friday!

Dressage on Saturday for the first time in a long time for a solid but unexciting BD prelim test for 65%.

Then took D hacking today, went a bit further to one of the bridle ways and he was super. No other rider about as an escort so the coloured one came for a walk with my partner as moral support horse!

Such happy ears.

What a fabulous weekend. I had the best ride ever on D in my lesson yesterday. Contact is more consistant, forward didnt involve any running and overalll he was super relaxed and happy to work!

Today went hacking with the coloured one and our woods are just stunning at this time of year!

D still has his halo on! Had a super time doing a bit in the school with raused cabter poles. Then we ventured out into the big xc field last night for the 1st time. Slightly worried, but very good about the dog who lives in the house next to it barking and running about in the bushes along the fence line, but was fine when he popped out and was properly identified as a dog so we carried on our way.

Didnt do any jumping or anything exciting, but did play on the raised banks and went and had a look at some of the more scary xc jumps.

He thought he was very clever!

What a perfect day to have horses today. Finally the weather was kind. Long hack behind the coloured ears.

Possibly 1st time jumping in a field tomorrow with D, but undecided on that one so far. Either way a lesson which should be good!

Out for our first adventure sunday! Local riding club walk trot dressage.

Im just hoping the silly beast keeps all his brain half in the right place. I am actually more worried about getting him tacked up than the actual riding part. It may be very exciting...

Ive given him a wash in preperation. His tail is finally restored to its full glory and not the winter grim colour.
