My mum and my daughter had been plotting together for a while. Esme went to nanny's for the day to prepare something for the family for Christmas.

This is what it was:

A small netted bag (like you put wedding favours in) which contained:

a foam heart
a marble
a tealight
20p
an elastic band
a piece of string
an eraser

On it was taped a card with a handwritten message:

A Little Bag of Happiness

An eraser to help correct your mistakes
A piece of string for when you fall apart
A marble for when you're told you're losing yours
A coin so you never have to say you have no money
A candle to light your moments of darkness
An elastic band to hold it all together.
All is given with a big kiss and my heart

Just what we all needed
