I think they are the hardest equine to keep, its not just a question of putting them in a field/or garden and letting them be a lawnmower! unfortunatly
I've had to restrict grazing, buy complete fly gear and milly rubs herself silly (habit no reason)
feed up underweight shetlands (now sold)
its not all fun and games but they are very affectionate if you get to know each other, Milly is such a cutie she mutual grooms and follows me around the field in trot or canter, she trots up to me at the gate but she is also soooooo cheeky she wont let many people catch her, just me and my mum so far hehe
