Does anyone know anyone who owns a saddle which has been made specially to accomodate their disability, or altered for that purpose please??

Alternatively, do you know anyone of the saddle companies for example, who has altered or made a saddle for a disabled rider. Could you either post details here, or PM if you prefer. Thank you.:)

this may not help but what about the WOW saddles? As they can be altered and adjusted so much, could they be made to your requirements?

Just a thought:)

Torsion treeless saddles do one.....

if you go on http://www.torsionsaddles.co.uk/OrderTorsion.htm

There should be a box you can tick that says......bora(special saddle for RDA)

They also do an orthopedic one, but not sure what the difference is between that and their e.g. deluxe one, you'd have to phone them and quiz them about it:p

It doesn't show a picture but here's one on an canadian site:

And i also found this on yahoo answers.....its someone who is disabled and has tried the torsion bora, but preferred a barefoot treeless saddle, which are quite a bit cheaper than than most of the torsions(i have a barefoot!:D:))

Hope this helps :)

Barnsby and WOW are the two that I'm aware of.

Lee Pearson has a barnsby which is flaired.

Maz79 from here (who has Charm) has a WOW that has an altered seat to accommodate an unlevel pelvis.

Yes, in short there is, a young lady on here (kerry) came to my workshop a while ago to run a new idea she had been working on past me for a adaption to any English saddle to make it into a disabled saddle, it was a good idea and she has developed it further and it may now be in production, I am not sure. I have e mailed her to come on here and to give you all the information she can about it.
Oz :)

HI

Yeah i have made a product which adapts a regular saddle for all your comforts and needs if you are disbaled. I worked with my local RDA group and got such great feedback. Iv had lots of interest in it, but as a poor student i havent ben able to make any more. It costs about £100. but there needs a lot of health and safety testing to go into it. RDA head office have been surprisingly un healpful! If u want images of it look on my website www.kerry.kerregan.co.uk. Look in degree, final project and also in the gallery for pics. Any one want more info please contact me! I have exhibited it in London and had Society of Master saddlers come and see it!
