Mine actually tripped yesterday on some unlevel bit of road. There must have been a little hole I didn't see.
There are actually two lanes /roads now that are really bad. One you used to be able to trot along.
I am probably going to do a rethink on how to avoid the worst part. And yes going on the pavement is on my list of options!

Anyone else have roads or lanes that are now so bad they need completely resurfacing?
I read somewhere an article that blamed heavier cars, but I think in our case it's the extra 250 houses with diversions onto the roads that are now crumbling / cars using it as a cut through when the main road had lights for three months / the really wet winter which gets underneath even more.

Our roads are terrible for pot holes, it just seems to be the way of things now.

I don’t worry about them tripping, it’s their job to look after their feet, he can shorten or lengthen the stride, step up and down things and even move around if necessary, but it’s not my job to manage that unless it’s a leg breaking hole. We do a lot of off piste riding, riding tracks like this one where they just cut and dropped all the branches from the trees, he’s got to look after his own feet.

Most of the brown between branches is dried pine needles laying over more branches, so they have to learn to cope! It’s definitely a learned skill, none of mine started out great at it.

I think pot holes are bad throughout the country. There have been some repaired round here and two weeks later the repair is all coming out. They don't even seal them round the edge these days.
Jessey has the perfect training ground. Teachers a horse to pick its feet up and a despooking exercise at the same time when a branch gets hooked in the tail.

I think the issue is the fact they don't seal them anymore, so obviously it's just going to open up again.
Mine struggles with uneven ground. The moors should help with this but she's unsure still.

We seem to have as much hole as road round here, there are constant complaints and warnings of cars having hit them - not always at speed - and blowing tyres or suspension. The council seem to think coming and painting round them is sufficient, and when the paint wears away or the hole spreads to include it they'll simply repaint

So it's not to say they are going to fill them in then?
I know around here unless it's a certain size and depth you can't claim for it.
Cyclists and pedestrians are having issues as well as we don't have pavements everywhere

Edit spelling.

I sometimes wonder if the new policy is to hope all the holes merge and they'll call that the new road surface, ie back to something resembling dirt tracks that they cn then claim don't need maintenance.
