Hi there,

as most of you know, I'm a nervous wreck these days. Due to a combination of circumstances (including working:() he hasnt been ridden for about 7 weeks and I was very worried about how he would react. The arena was solid so I couldnt go in there so I lunged him for a few minutes in the wee paddock then got on - and he was a total star.

I did have someone on foot just to keep me happy but my New Years Resolution of solo hacking confidently is looking a lot more promising:D.

Unfortunately - and nothing to do with me!! - he is registered on his passport as "The Terminator". Have you ever seen anything less terminatory in your life?

I met him the day he was born, fell in love, then kept right out his road as I didnt need another horse. At weaning time the girl who owned him asked if he could come to me. I said yes, he arrived on the sunday and I bought him for my hubbys birthday on the monday. By that time he was named, passported and I was stuck with it:eek:

Didn't you know the smiling on hacks is actually a safety feature. You be more relaxed if you smile, no matter how you feel inside! :D

Well done you & what a handsome chap he is. You're right though, he doesn't look like a terminator!

My plan for this spring is to have another bash at getting Jim hacking. Somewhere along the line he's lost his nerve & some days he can't even make it half a mile down the lane without turning into a tense, shaking wreck & he's no better with a different rider so I'm fairly sure it isn't me. I need a couple of weeks of reasonable weather though so I can't see it happening any time soon.

Thats because his career never really seems to get going. Still, this year we WILL be happy hackers:D.

I took him out today again with a friend and we had a great time - even when we met scary tractors (the worst was a small child who got a new go kart for christmas - with its own baby silage chopper and trailer attached - we had to ask him to stop for us:o).

Arnie would like to say thankyou for all these nice comments - he is feeling very chuffed with himself just now:D (and so is his mum - my new years resolution is to be able to hack solo and lose weight and the first bit is looking promising:D)
 
He's looking fabulous! And you look totally relaxed! Joyscarer is right too - smiling is a safety feature !
