Our lovely long reining hack :-)

So as its a gorgeous day and I refused to waste it,malaika and me have been out for 1hr30mins long reining,had a fantastic time,she was a gem,we called at home to see mum and dad and collect 2 of our dogs.been in fields,on the road,in the woods,over bridges and had a great time.lots of pics
They go in order of our journey.

We then said hello to smartie and came to the drive of the estate we live on

Arrived at home to see mum dad and the dogs!

Then we headed off after a cuppa and a munch of grass with enya and harry in tow

Then over the bridge and down to the burn where enya had a swim,harry just looked about and malaika had another munch

Then off we went again through the woods where we met the scary tree stump

Then we were home!had such a lovely day

Thanks guy's,I do love her bottom!its a gorgeous view and I'm very lucky to have all the other good views around us to enjoy aswell
This will be what we are getting upto for a few months,my aim is to long rein to the beach but that will be about 4-5 hours in walk but will be well worth it!

It was a lovely sunny day here to. Debated on setting up longrein stuff but just popped driving saddle on and led,
I think long reining isn't just to start the horse off, it gets forgotten when you get on board, its really relaxing and quiet.

Ps-i was hoping to find open gates to have a nosey in but we didn't see any.

I have often chose long reining over riding I got hooked on it with my last horse mystique,I do enjoy riding if someone told me I could never ride again I'd be happy to walk behind bottoms forever.
It really is relaxing NF and malaika seems to really enjoy it as do I and its good to jeep me fit aswell,seems only fair I use my legs as well as her
We are lucky here most gates are open which is brill and the land owner allows us free rein aswell!

The keeping fit part I see as a bonus, plus its been lovely.
I noted wild garlic garlic which had I have been riding I would probably have missed or trotted past.
We only trot if we need to pass a car, I want to introduce trot next week in places-if I can run. :giggle:
I have had her cantering in the school, that's called really run. :wink:

You will be ready to run a marathon by the time you have done all that running
It will be another month or so before I'm aloud to do a gentle jog so will have to keep to walk for now but I hope to be trotting soon enough!
Yes its true I think you miss a lot more when your riding,also I love seeing everything from malaikas point of view at her eye level,lucky she is only 14.2/3ish as I'm shortish so we are just about on par in the eyeline
