Rudge fun ride sept 2014
Potentially the last funride of this year. It was just the other side of our village too which was convenient, though we still trailered there as I couldn't be bothered with the hacking there and back.
I took my yard friend, she hasn't been on a funride this year and her horse is known to be a bit of a monkey when excited, so we went late when it is quieter.
When we arrived my funride friend from last week was there. She had had an incident with the group of crazy teenagers she went to the funride with from her yard, they went galloping off and her horse lost the plot. She was going to go home but we persuaded her to come with us as we were going to be taking it very slow.
I jumped about 5/6 jumps, two were the moveable ones that the hunt put up and the rest were on the XC course which starts at 2ft3 according to their website - so naughty me jumped a bit higher than normal
We didn't do the full route as my yard friend isn't used to such long rides so we cut it short and I did a relay to drop 2 horses first then 1 after.
Haven't been to this one for years, glad we went though I still don't think it's one that I love, it's quite hilly in places and the ground is freshly cut through a woodland which means the ground is a bit soggy/boggy sometimes.
We couldn't do any stubble canters and the tag along pony was a bit excitable and Moët would have just wanted to race. So tbh I feel most of the ride was in walk, still enjoyed it though.
