Hi just wondered. My first horse is arriving on Wed. I have collected all the info about his showing/dentist/worming/vacs dates etc. He is usually shod every 6 weeks (sometimes every 5 in mid-Summer). However, I would like to align him with others on our years, which would mean leaving him until exactly 7 weeks. Sorry for such a 'novice' question, but is that likey to be ok, or must I stick to the 6 wks??

An extra week will be no problem.

Keep an eye on his shoes and make sure he doesn't wear through them, or look like hes over growing them. But he will be fine.

Im sure it will be fine, I was going to have mine done every 7 weeks as farrier said there was plenty left last time, due to being on holiday we had to leave it for 8 weeks and then farrier never turned up .

Found another farrier and so it ended up being nearly 9 weeks:eek:

Grace was fine though had no problem, just keep an eye thats what I did :)

Thanks - that's good news, it would be nice to get into a routine with others at the yard. I will keep and eye out to make sure the look ok.
