Oh dear, last few weeks have been a nightmare!

We have someone who have just moved into a house that backs onto our yard about 6 months ago. he is a pain in the ar$e, and has now made it his mission to get the yard closed down and all of the horses evicted! long story short, he has gone to the parish who have conducted a survey round the village and they have decided that, with the riding school in the middle of the village and two big livery yards on the outskirts they dont want the yard there anymore. Horses must go at some point. Its just a matter of when!!

So, the field i was going to get is now no more, it must be used for grazing of sheep/pigs etc as the fields are unsuitable for crop.

Subsequently, June & Jazz need to find a new home. A friend has already left and found a new yard, one of the big ones on the outskirts of the village.

Went down today to have a look about. They have no stables left, but what they do have are pen type things. They equil about 3 stables knocked into 1 in a large barn, and will hold my two with out problems. They will have there own paddock, theres a lunging/loose schooling area, school, field with a few jumps, next to about 3 miles of off road hacking and close enough to the village to still get to it.

So ... i have given my notice and will be leaving at the end of the month, need to ring the guy to confirm i am defo coming, need to book a day off work, oh - and OH is devistated that jazz has to be gelded so also need to book that. Oh so much to do! I have even bought june travel bootys - even though she will be walking to the yard - you never know haha!!!

Oh my head hurts, and its not even last nights hangover!!
 
There's nowt worse than annoying horse hating people, who think if they move some where, and they don't like their neighbours, that it's ok to just 'shove' then out of the way:stomp: It's more likely, he wants the land for himself.. There's always a reason why things like this happen and it's usually a hidden agenda..
Personally, I'd buy a few pigs and stick them in the field behind him:devil:
 
What an annoying neighbour!! Some people really have nothing better to do than moan! We had a guy in our village that moved into the house that is next door to our park and playing fields and he used to moan about kids playing in the park!! :banghead:

Glad you've managed to find somewhere to move to though!
 
That's what farmer has said he will do - he will run a free range pig farm. He has said he can re locate us but could be up to half hours drive away which is just to far. Hea such a pain, he has made death threats to farmer, threatened to burn stables down with horses in them, but police say it's our word against his :@ nightmare!!!
 
Carry a voice recorder in your pocket, make notes of everything he says.. put up security cameras facing stables, or hide voice recorders/camcorders in and around the farm.. then set up a trap, where you can get him where you want him.. or get a friend he doesn't know, to be friendly with him... There's more than one way to skin a rat:wink:
 
Am liking the pig farm idea:wink:

We used to say that we were going to put pigs on our land as we got fed up with city dwellers moving to the country and then moaning about noise, smells etc.

Never did it though but would have loved to see their faces it we had.....
 
Would love it if he did!! I've had a good chat to the girl who rents off the farmer who I rent off, she said the kids will always have a home wherever she is if I don't like it so that's good!! I will miss the "family!"

I was a bit guttered today - new farm has pigs, apparently they are going for bacon :(

Why on earth would you buy a house that backs onto a stables if you didn't like horses?! That's just ridiculous! Obviously he has some hidden agenda (I bet you can see pound signs in his eyes!) I'm liking the pig farm idea...or anything that might devalue his house...then he might regret his actions!

That's what we said! We were hoping that would be our argument but we can't take in the full village!!
 
Has the Farmer formally given you notice?

Just because the Villagers have said they don't particularly want you there surely they have to take appropriate action to get you moved off?
 
Cheers vikki. It's just one thing after the other! Boss is back tomorrow so will be booking a few days off. Need loads of nets if anyone is selling any cheaply!! Poor jazz is getting the chop, poor lad hasn't got a clue! Hopefully this will be the silver lining on the cloud - I dread to think how June will react to being penned up for a week with rat bag!! Xx



Fairlady they already have. Farmer told us we should start looking as he is not sure when it will be but it WILL be happening. Suppose it's a good thing - for the same money they will be dry on a night, not knee deep in mud and hopefully hay bill won't be to big as the fields are still knee deep in grass. Oh deary me. Why couldn't I win the lottery, build a house in the middle of no-where and have them in my garden?
 
Thats awful, can he really get get the yard closed down? How can this be? Does the farmer not have change of use? Do hope things work out for you tho. What a pain some folk are.
 
Yep. Parish land so whatever they says go's basically, I'm so so angry! Only thing that's chilling me out was June yesterday when I went up and she seemd so down cold and wet - atleast she will be dry!! With decent hay! Will just hve to see what happens.

It's been an ongoing issue for re past 6 months, literally, he moved in and started so it hasn't been an overnight thing :@ x

Since when did it work like that? There must be more to it. I hope he puts pigs on the land instead, that would be really cool :D
 
There is more to it but I don't know the ins and outs of it all. It's a pi$$ take and it's so unfair! But it's happening so best make the most of a bad situation :'( starting to look about for extra buckets/haynets/stable toys for the kids.

*sigh*
 
Good luck finding somewhere new, who knows it might turn out to be a good thing in the long run? Can happen :)
 
Fingers crossed! I requested holidays today to move, will see if they are approved tomorrow when the boss comes back. She's horsey so the long winded email I sent her about the poor ponys will hopefully have some effect!
 
We have an annoying neighbour too!! little does he know that we're creating a little pig paddock against our hedge that joins his field!! Gutted ;)
