New 2026 Hacking / riding thread

Like everyone else in the UK we've had roasting hot weather. I still managed to ride all of the days except for the bank holiday Monday, when much to Harveys disgust he had to have a bath.

Lazy bank holiday :)

Lovely potter in the calm again, she was soooo ready to get down for grass though. I've been keeping them both in for a bit longer in a morning (they are out overnight) so she was anxious to get back and get her head down. She moves much faster coming back up the field 😍 🤭 🐴 I bet if I asked she might even produce a trot..........🤭

Rode today in the misty, damp soggyness. But you know, it was great - just proves that she's the right pony for me, as I'd never have bothered if it had been Zi or even maybe Storm back in the day. I used to talk myself out of it. Anyway, so glad I did. Quite muggy here now - hopefully will dry up a bit more. :D

Well just call me the potterer pursuivant! Blimey, can't remember the last time I rode in succession like this. Fabulous. Weather weird though, its gone foggy now. But we had a damp pootle again but so calm. Its usually the wind up here that is a challenge for us. Happy June to all fellow NR's as well! 🐴 🐴:D

Lunged today and found a little ridge since the workman have left a bump. Made use of that. She was happy to trot towards the beach.
No photos as the camera decided it wasn't saving anything 😂

I am so glad I pootled yesterday - as today is so not a pottering about day. Its foggy and creepy and damp. So she's had a day off and is happily wandering the field with mr zi. Everything is so damp today - clingy mist. Anyway yesterday was another nice potter about and I won't grumble about not being able to today. I really ought to clean her tack whilst the weather is so pants............ 🐴 🤭

Well she was full of beans when I arrived.
It's breezy today too say the least. I need to put my hair in a bun as it was blowing in front of the lens, so I blocked some of the video.
Only the second attempt with it. I love being hands free as I have my hands full 😂
She's trotting towards the beach /sea /coast so taking that as great progres. Since the sea is flipping freezing neither of us want to get wet!!!

The first 3 days of my weekend (I get a 4 day weekend now I am semi retired :)) were very hot so I rode as early as I could. Sunday was better and I had a trip to some gallops with YO. It was a really nice place but they were training gallops with a deep sand surface which was very holding so we didn't do too much.

This is what greeted me on Thursday morning - he was very pleased with himself

Well I took Fuz into our school today. Not been in there for over a year! So she was curious and rather forward but that's okay. However there is much to tempt a starving pony along the way and I had to keep my leg on to avoid her noshing on the vegetation that is growing in our back garden (I will get around to sorting it eventually but its not my favourite occupation). So I'm hoping to get her used to the school as its a nice flat clean surface and somewhere to go when the field is mushy. Why I didn't use it over winter I honestly don't know. So after that we headed to the field on our usual jaunt. Gingerbiscuits all round afterwards!🐴:D
