New 2026 Hacking / riding thread

It is a bit. 3 days on and its starting to heal. I would normally wear gloves, but having seen a young girl in the road with her horse standing on its back legs I just grabbed the nearest lead rope and ran
Got out for a short ride. Had three trots although she wasn't happy about the first one. We've started going that way recently and I have mainly led her on that bit. Now I am not only expecting her to carry me, the cheek of it, I am expecting her to do some flipping work as well 
I wanted to go down the moors but the forces were practicing and the boom and echo from whatever it was had already scared three dogs into running off and the sheep. Glad I asked about it as I had assumed it was the house being built behind me.

Vet again for Harvey last Thursday. He's healing well and she doesn't plan to see him again - I'll just carry on sending weekly photos. He's cleared back into full work now. Mind you that didn't help as the heat only allowed a short hack on one day. His field is getting very scorched and he sadly he is in one of the only 2 fields with a metal gate which he proceeded to play tunes on with his hoof until I was forced to move him. The only better field was adjacent to YOs horse who isn't allow to be anywhere near another horse (don't ask!) so I had to sit in the field to make sure they stayed apart. Luckily the best grass was the far end anyway!

I hope you are all enjoying your riding. (Insert huffy jealous / cheesed off icon). I am still waiting for the abscess on Fuzzy. Grrrrr. I know it will come and touch wood - we will be off around the fields again at some point but I am restless without it. Don't get me wrong I love spending time with them, I spent six years with nothing to ride so am no stranger to it. But would be very nice to get back on board. Okay rant over hahahaha.

I was so nervous at first mounting
4 years is a long time...
And you get stiff
Omg what if I can't get on...
Then what if I can't get off
I got home and omg I felt so different

LOL I was moving my arms..shoulders etc

This can't be MY BODY
My circle c saddle fit him perfectly
I haven't tried my Tucker
But
We both feel great w the circle c
So I may stick with that
Being shorter than Sonny its a little easier to get the saddle up and on
We sat out a while
Then opened the stall guard
He came out wandered s bit
Then went back in
