im moving my 20 yr old tb mare to a new yard, where she is at mo is bad on grazing had to feed her all thru summer, new place loads of good grass[so will be keeping her off it a few hours daily] nevertheless my problem is that theres only her and a gelding at present place. theyve been together a year now. im worried she will fret for him. theres 4 other horses at new yard so it isnt a big place, she will be in a field where there is a fence dividing the other horses so ive no worries of her getting kicked. pls can someone tell me if horses soon get over a companion??

The mare will probably settle with her new companions - but the gelding that is left behind might fret for her! Can the gelding see any other horses? Are there any sheep / cows?
