I would have said the chance of doing her hinds would have been zero with many more zeros added but with a cunning plan, they were done today, no donkey worried or hurt in the process. I put my rope halter on her, and fed her some treats, managed to get the rope around her ankle and lift and hold the leg so she was balancing with the rope helping her and her head was free. Cleaned one, she has deep clefts and repeated the process with the other hind.
So none of the wild swinging the hinds out at great speed and very high, as donkeys don't have a check ligament so they can move their hinds at lightning speed and further than you would imagine. Instead her head and hind leg were on the same rope, but the only tension was on the hind, she had no pressure on her head.
Thrilled to bits hopefully by the time the farrier comes she will be able to lift and hold without help but she did so well in terms of trust.
