I think the forum needs a banned words list

Words that the computer stops you from using, so we don't get trolls who are so immature that they think adding in profanity and sexual content is a way to pass the time.
They must be very bored with their life.

We've had two trolls in recent weeks who gradually bring in unsuitable for a public audience words. I am no prude but this is Imo a horse friendly family viewing type forum.
We are adults but attract kids!

Must admit I hit ignore too, I’m quite open minded but some of his ramblings were enough to make a w***e blush!
It takes a lot to offend me and I didn’t take anything he said personally, I actually started to feel a bit sorry for him, must be horrible to have such a sad life.
But yes I agree @newforest

I think some active moderating might be a start.
The whole ethos of NR is that it has been self moderating, all sensible folks who are aware of their audience. I know Mike is around because he dealt in short order with my double registration. Just ignore the twits. That way they’ll find somewhere else to feed.

I am sure Mike has got a banned words list installed but it can't catch everything and as you say it is the context more than the words.

Makes you realise how devastating online bullying can be for less mature users.

I think the answer is just to ignore them without a response - maybe flag up in the Sofa area. If they get no response at all maybe they will give up - DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!

I must admit that last one I only read the first paragraph and switched off thinking we have a nut job troll here. I couldnt be bothered to even read the rest of what was written but I did read the replies and didnt like the rubbish.
I do agree that if you see something like this dont even reply to it. By replying you just feed there ego just hit report and I'm sure it will be deleted as soon as possible.

Initially I replied with a sensible answer because I gave them the benefit of the doubt in regards to religion.
They started being rude to others after that.
It gets to a stage where I actually cannot be bothered to engage with new/ returning members as they may have an underlying troll agenda.
