Im 39 and small but curvy as have put on a little this year comfort eating and drinking cos of stress was under in work

Im not really overweight just not my usual weight so makes me self conscious when going out which I didnt do for a while cos on medication and not feeling it at all :frown:

I am off the meds now and out of the fog I was in so looking forward to a girls night on the vino next sat. I have picked my outfit and wondered do others go through the list and palava I do??

I wont show arms and shoulders are a def no no. I wont wear anything too tight or too short and wear hold me in sumo suit :giggle:

I had ordered 2 new dresses which had taken up as small and decided to wear dress already had and never worn cos has sleeves :furious:

But at least I have an outfit and feel comfy and attractive in it

I think I am getting worse as I get older and with all the anxiety in my life it has spilled into my outgoing sociable personality :help:

OMG Don't even start me on this! I have NOTHING to wear. I've no idea what my wardrobes are full of! I don't even feel comfortable in jeans any more - if it isn't jodhs and t-shirt I feel overdressed.

We're off to the races next month with a few friends and all the girls are busy planning their outfits. Apparently I have to wear a dress. Eeeuuggghh! Will have to start shopping soon.

My main problem is that I'm too old to wear the sort of dresses that I would have worn in my youth and I just don't know what else to wear that doesn't make me look a complete frump! I'd love Gok to pick me a wardrobe (but not anything fussy that needs a lot of ironing, and no way am I getting naked at my age. Best covered up lol)

I don't have the think about what to wear as I never go out! Billy no mates that I am, and like Bodshi if it's not jodhs/breeches it's not comfy.

I am 37 and never ever get my outfit right. I am either over dressed, under dressed or just completely out of date.

My clothes don't fit me right they are either to tight or to loss and the only think I can wear that matches and look right are my yard clothes I feel your pain

I don't!I am a 5 mins get ready girl,I like abit of makeup but clothes well whatever is comfy tbh leggings been the main thing!its a standing joke in my house if we go out anywhere and have anything remotely non horsey or girly as my parents call it they always say b****y hell we have a daughter today!

LOL. Yes I prefer long sleeves myself. Tough when you live in TExas. I buy short sleeve dresses but then try and cover up with a sweater -super suspicious in 90 degree weather of course. lol

So do tell what in the world is this:
wear hold me in sumo suit

OBC I was convinced you were late 20's!!

I am in my 60's apple shaped and mainly wear trousers, for dressy though I have a few short dresses to wear with thick tights (legs are my best point!!) and have just bought a dress and jacket outfit for a friends wedding as I need to hide my skinny arms and bony shoulders

My sumo suit is the spandax type hold you in underwear suit :giggle:

I am size 10-12 but cos only 4ft11 it leaves me with problems dresswise now as got a tummy and big top arms and shoulders which always had though even when skinny :frown:

I tend to go for black dresses with sleeves that are loose then use a belt to give me a shape and heels and fake tan or leggings with the lacey bottom so more sexy

I usually cover my arms with cardis or boleros but fed up being the covered up one and then when show my arms I see pics all over fb and all I see is fat arms yugh

I will post a few pics of my night out and see if you think my choice was good lol......find my fb page Angela Hutchinson and will see some pics if want to give me some clothing advice

What I wear depends entirely on my mood. Generally I'm pretty extrovert and like lots of boobs, but have a variety of cover up Lacey bolero or long slinky cover ups that hide/disguise the bits I don't like, like my belly, but I still can wear the clothes I like. I'm having a bit of a goth phase at the mo, which works really well with lots of (forgiving) layers! It's not nice feeling self concious but I don't really care what others look like and don't think they give a monkeys about me either. I'd rather be remembered as the crazy lady in the slightly mad outfit giving it large on the dance floor than 'who?' because I hid in a corner and spent the night vainly thinking everyone's looking at me because I'm as imperfect as the rest of them. Life's just too short and after a few vinos who cares anyway!

I am small and quite well padded..... I don't own a skirt or dress (shudders at the thought) and I tend to feel happiest in yard clothes, ie denim jodhs, fleeces - polo shirts....
If I have to make an effort and be normal I wear heels with skinnies and a well fitting shirt or sweater. Nothing looks worse on me than baggy tops or bottoms - I am better showing what I have rather than hiding it!!! I like long boots and skinny jeans in winter - and I own somewhere in the region of about 10 pairs of flat long leather riding style boots. (Serial boot hunter!). I also love scarves - I have lots and like to accessorise with them. I do like jewellery too - not around the horses of course, but if I'm going somewhere special I dig out my bracelets. I seem to live in small pearl earrings too - feel quite bare without those!!!
I used to force myself to wear stuff just because it was fashionable - now I am 43 I like to think I've sorted out what looks okay and what doesn't. I am good at hiding my bad points too! lol

Ive never worn whats fashionable if dont like it or doesnt suit me.

I prefer dresses for nights out as dont feel glam enough in skinny jeans cos wear them alot casually so like to tan and glam

i dont hide in the corner once on the vino I have less cares :bounce:

I never have a clue what to wear, live in skinny jeans with a gilet! I have my graduation in 3 weeks and need to buy a dress! I am 5ft7 and a size 10, any suggestions??

Oh god, clothes. Luckily I spend most of my time either in yard/riding clothes or pyjamas, sometimes jeans but only on the rare occasions I'm not actually doing horse stuff. Most of the non-horsey socialising I do is stuff like having people round for dinner, going out for pizza or to the cinema or shops - all of which involve wearing jeans and trainers, plus a hoodie or a very plain top (long sleeved cos I have scrawny arms!) and I feel the cold all year round so rarely wear anything that actually shows my figure. Not that I have much of a figure to show, I have no boobs and no curves and just go straight down, my body is neither grown-up nor feminine so if I'm not in casual clothes I don't really know what to do! Those of you who cover up your womanly shapes should be proud to show them off, I wish I had some!

OBC I was convinced you were late 20's!!

LOL - I'm late 20s - if you thought OBC was late 20s then how old did you think I looked? :giggle:

LOL about 15

Ooft 15? Harsh, very harsh :giggle: Average guess I get at the moment is 18/19... I'm only 28 in August :giggle: But see, this is why I never know what to wear, I would feel a bit odd doing my clothes shopping in the 915 range at New Look!

Haha I too would have placed obc at 29-30 and I would have said you were same age as me Joosie... Which in reality would be 25 but in my head is about 16 or 17!

As for wearing clothes... It depends on my mood and the weather and everything else as to what I wear... Good day or bad day but mostly it's pjs or work uniform or scruffs

I'm 38 and live in skinny jeans and T-shirts/jumpers, and I just change my boots from my trusty brown flats to my riding boots to ride! Got loads of gorgeous dresses and heels from my living-in-London days that I adore and would never get rid of, but never wear as we tend just to go to the local pub when we go out. It's not really a dressy-uppy place round here!

Im grand in skinnies for local pubs but for clubs or other ocassions I dont feel fit or glam enough unless in a dress of some sort.

I got a super dress so chuffed with for this sat night with the girls and cant wait as fee confident yet sexy in it and havent had a girls night in months aprart from one hated cos my medicated stressed fog.

I also thought this dress would be fab for hen do following sat with girl from work and her friends I havent even met any of an they are all in 20's to a young club eeek then am told yest with a week and half to go it is air hostess fancy dress theme and then told later in the day has to be red :banghead:

I googled and everything either heavy jacket costumes which will roast in and very boring and not me at all plus I detest red of all colours on me :help:

Then google more and anything half decent which isnt like underwear showing all my bulges and wobbly bits is too expensive as going to cost me £30 before drink for night out with people dont know then google for hours to find things are either out of stock or not in my size or wont be delivered here in time :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I then emailed the seller and they replied thankfully in few hours to say would be here next week tues or wed phewee so now i have sent more than wanted and more than hen lol just to fit in and feel comfortable in photos and am worried it will look rare on me
