Hi

After some advice as i know some of you guys own one of these. Firstly what is the difference between the HM seat bone saver and a normal sheep skin cover you buy from your tack shop and also does it put a lot of bulk between you and the saddle, can imagine it sitting you higher off the saddle.

Just a few questions before i decide to spend £49.

Well i couldnt do without my SBS and i know a lot of others who say the same. It's different from an ordinary one as it is made from slow recovery foam which acts as a shock absorber and stops your seatbones from being bruised. Ive found that because it is so comfy it actually helps to feel the movment of the horse better even though there is a little more bulk. Some people have said that they dont get on with them though. Could you borrow someone's before buying to make sure u like it?
 
Thanks for that Lindi. They do sound great and I would love to try one before hand but i'm unsure that there's anyone at my stables who actually has one of these.

Its my birthday coming up in May, so maybe i can convice my OH to buy my one.

I brought my self a HM seat saver a few months ago and just carnt get on with it, i find it to bulky and not that soft.

I no there are alot of people who carnt ride with out it and others that dont like it.

I would try and borrow one before you bhy one.

I bought one because I ride at a riding school and some of those saddles are LETHAL! Also the boy that I am riding at my new school has a horrid GP saddle which causes abrasions and ouchies. I found the SBS a bit bulky to start with but once you've used it a couple of times it feels fine, I also find that it feels more secure than a sheepskin one (hated those).

I love it and always take it in my car with me .... in fact it tends to live in there when it's not on a saddle!

I bought one of them a few months ago and i love it! I bought i new saddle and the seat is a bit slippy but it gives me grip, it also sits me better, i can now feel fault in my riding (i used to sit to the right) which i didn't notice before, but now i feel that i sit more central. I lent it to my mum once and at first she thought it was strange and made her feel higher up than normal but she got used to it and loves it aswell!! The only thing you have to watch is if you dont do the starps up equally and it is slightly to one side then it makes you feel as though you are leaning really badly, bt thats easily avoided.

I would definitly recomend one! I knwo they're expensive (i shopped around for mine and it cost £40) i wouldnt say they were a bargain for that but they're a good
