Has anyone ridden in a Poncho?

I'm a bit paranoid about getting my saddles wet, I've been looking at various options but have just come across a riding poncho, has anyone ridden in one? Did you find it restrictive at all? Did it get caught on anything when riding?

I am thinking of taking one for my wales trip, the thought of getting soaked to the bone or even worse my sleeping bag getting wet while riding makes me think its a good idea. I was just going to order a five quid generic one off Ebay to test it out, I don't think Jess will be phased even if the wind starts flapping it about, I have a long riding coat which flaps about and she doesn't mind that. I have found my long riding coat can get caught on the back of the saddle occasionally but not enough to worry me, I do find doing lots of rising trot it doesn't much help to keep my saddle dry but its fine as long as my butt stays in the seat.
