On an island
Fuz is quite a chunky little cob and I wanted to ask on here if anyone knows of a particularly good cob fit on fly rugs? She's broad across her chest and I do find it difficult. Last year I bought her one - can't remember the brand and it just didn't do at all. She hated it and I can only think its because it was uncomfy. I also tried one of Chloe's old ones but it made her look like that character out of Little Britain, "I'm the only gay in the village" she looked like a stuffed sausage! So I don't want to buy a boo-boo and end up with yet another sat in the pile in the tack room cupboard. Any ideas most grateful. She does need one, because she gets very cheesed off with the flies in another couple of weeks and I end up letting her back up the yard and keeping her in which isn't ideal as I like them both to wander as much as possible and be happy to do that. Thanks in advance.

I was going to check in the tack room what the fly rugs are that I got. Sorry walked passed and forgot this morning. I've got two here on my bedroom floor that are awaiting some repairs, no make labels on though. (Only 15 months since i lost the boys I will finish the repairs one day and put them away for the next horse.) ive got the packaging in the tack room so I will check.
They are the big white ones, with neck and under belly flap.
I had some meshy type fly sheets, cooler, but ripped far too easily. To the point of no return.
The white ones whilst ripped could at least be repaired.
Chunky was 14.1. He took a 6ft fly rug. Was baggy on the backend but ok on the front. I'll check the make though.

I’ll have a look at mine tomorrow Trews but I think they’re horseware amigo bug rugs which fit Belles chunky wide chest and shoulders a treat.

Measured Fuzzy the other week and she's approximately 14.2hh which surprised me as I thought she was smaller. I was wondering what size to go for on her.

Both of mine do best in shires tempest (the thicker sweet itch version not the mesh ones) despite being very different shapes, Jess is very broad chested, Monkey not so much. I think it’s more the fabric that helps as they have a bit more structure to them where mesh ones always seem to pull back and rub shoulders and withers. I do have mesh ones for both when it’s too hot for the thicker ones.

Jess is 15.1 and wears 6’6”, Monkey is 15.2 and is 6ft.

I find weatherbeeta generally have a good size chest on them in their turnout rugs, that’s all Jess has.
