I am not 100% sure on how I did up the cinch.

So western peeps, can you explain what the double ring is for on the strap with the holes side, (latigo?)
It did up and I am happy with the knot, but I feel the cinch itself needs to be longer due to where the buckles sit on her.
She didn't explode which I see as a good sign, as I usually lunge with something new to find out if she's holding back any thoughts!
I can add a pad next time as I don't really like the idea of the rings being directly on her, though she didn't react to me doing any tightening of things or fiddling.

Yes she's plump, working on it. She's gone chocolate colour again with dapples.

My riding position is awful. I am considering having lessons again at the local stables. But on theirs to save the hassle of settling mine which causes my position to go on the wonk in the first place 😆

Generally you have an off billet that is short with holes in and a latigo that is long and may have holes in the end or not or you might have 2 latigos. I can’t really see to understand what you’ve got. I’ve never had a western saddle with 2 overlaid rings, often you get one behind the other so you can adjust rigging position.

ETA, just thought, my bareback pad has 2 rings overlaid, the top one is where the stirrups connect.

Your knot could pull loose, you would normally go up into the front/middle and out the left behind the ring and then come all the way across the front, then in from the right behind and out the middle and then you go down under the cross across the front, then tighten each section and pull the tail down, you need at least 8” tail, I hope that makes sense, if not I can take a picture.

Thank you for your reply.
It's got a short billet with holes and a latigo without.
A photo sounds good.
I think it's long enough to give me the 8"
