I agree Ale. Flu causes a lot of illness and deaths every year despite vaccines, the cynic in me thinks the reason we aren't given advice to self isolate etc is that it would cause havoc to the economy every year and that's a bigger issue.
The risks probably are low given I understand the virus doesn't live for long outside the body (or that's what scientists currently think, it may change)
I agree with both these things above.
You don't get told to self isolate with the flu because the vulnerable groups are offered the vaccine, there are over the counter things to take to ease symptoms and you probably feel so utterly utterly rubbish you don't go out anyway /common sense tells you to stay away from the young, elderly, sick.
You likely know you have the flu, people are not necessarily showing symptoms of this new strain.
Science is learning as it goes. It's as much in the dark as the rest of us.
I don't fancy being sent to London or Liverpool with a police escorts guards outside for two weeks. I can't say what it's like because I only have my horror films to go by, so I am no use there.
