Off to the sales this weekend. Need to buy a new ram. Going to need a deep pocket if the Wiltshire Horn Garwen sale price last week was anything to go by. Mind they still sell sheep in Guineas so I havent done the price conversion back yet.

we just had the Kelso tup sales last weekend and thousands of tups there lots of texels but other breeds too, prices were good there from what i heardWent with an empty trailer. Came back with an empty trailer. Feeling deflated right now.
Have a couple of leads to follow up on though. So watch this space.
I didnt post up yesterday. Had been thinking about it all week but yesterday i somehow blanked it out.
It is a whole year since I let the boys go. Where has the time gone.
Golly that's weird with the crows liking the crayon isn't it! I had a pet one once, but he really only liked stealing sausages off the barbeque and bread and other bits and bobs we fed him. He used to try and eat my toes in sandals too - strange bird!First hay put out this morning for the cows and some in tomorrow's paddock. Won't be a regular thing for a few weeks yet. It is only because today's and tomorrows paddocks are a little smaller so not as much grass on them so I thought a few bales of hay will help eek out the grass. They were tucking into it.
Ewe has blown a 2nd abcess in her foot. First one is still bloody. Not healing. Still not weight bearing so she's staying in still. My other lame ewe is out in the field. Still can't see what's wrong with her. She's catchable and getting around so she can stay out.
Cadmus has done 4 ewes so far. Noted I had a polka dot ram. Then looked at raddle crayon under his chest. Crows have been pecking at it, then jumping up on his back. Hope they don't eat it too quick. It's supposed to last 3 weeks before I change for a new colour. Clearly crows are draw to colour and like the taste of wax crayon.
