I enjoy crystallized (sugared) ginger after dinner, good for the digestion and all. I was outdoors and Mara looked interested in what I was eating (she's a Haflinger, after all) so I gave her a small piece.

She didn't spit it out (oatmeal cookie has been rejected in the past) but mouthed and lipped and chewed quite a bit!

She was fine later so I assume I did not kill her with this. Anyone know if horses can eat ginger?

Yes, my mare has powdered ginger sometimes when she's feeling under the weather. I keep some in an old supplement tub and if she shows interest in it I'll give her a teaspoon or two in her feed. She doesn't have it often, just for short periods if she's been feeling a bit off.
