Calming horse during shows

I have trained this pony for my instructor, and she would like me to start showing her in low key hinter/jumper shows. This pony is very uneasy and spooks at just about anything. she has never been to a shown away from the barn (my barn hosts a couple of their own for the students!). So my question is in the hunter jumper ring is it proper/aloud to softly say things such as "easy" to keep her calm, I wouldnt say it very loud.

could you not get an instant calmer for the day? never used one myself but iv heard there really good for spooky/excited horses:) or is there nothing else that really calms her down?

sorry cant really help you out much im running on a low battery:eek:

Id say that's fine but i would get the pony associating you saying calming words with a pat, practise loads at home! also maybe take her to a few shows just for a stroll around without competing so there's no pressure, walk around the warm ups, the horseboxes, maybe with an experienced horse with you?
