I went on my riding club beach ride yesterday, in the pouring rain! I had an awful hangover and nearly didnt make it, but I had the first of my birthday weekend plans scuppered when I tried to get to the Scottish Equestrian Event on Saturday, only for my car to break down half way, and having to get AA'ed home! Drowned sorrows, hence hangover....
left in drizzle, which amplified to sideways pouring rain 5 mins from home. OH suggested turning back, and pointed out that no one would be there....I decided that I was going anyway, even if just for a 5 minutes ride.
We got to the car park (45 min away) to see loads of trailers! About 8 horses in all. I met them on the wild and winswept beach. Visibilty so bad that I could only see 2 of them! Oscar was very worried at first, but soon settled, thanks to a been there got the Tshirt 15yo racing pony. Who also inspired a surprising burst of speed, on a few long gallops (not quite intended to be son long nor so fast!).
OH buggered off to Burger King, hence no photos.
All in all a perfect way to spend my birthday, and to get rid of a hangover!
