right, we're planning a beach trip in the week starting 24 october ... at a horsefriendly beach nearby (goring). never ridden on the beach (but have checked - horses are allowed on this one offseason eg from mid october!) and very confused about tides!!

i understand you need a low tide for riding?

i got the week's tide information .... like so

since we dont want to ride in the dark, monday seems the best option? but what does the 1.0m mean? is that still ok to be riding? sorry too sound so thick, but I come from a mostly landlocked country, ahem ...

The beginning of the week you want to be going between 12-5ish

The weekend you want to be going 7-9am or after 3pm ish :)

The numbers I think are the predicted depths at the stick that is the out in the water ( i don't know techie name!)

ah ok! because we dont want to wade around 1m deep water :giggle: (not on 12hh ponies we don't!!!). so monday early afternoon would be good? ths is all terribly exciting, I hope it won't rain or snow!! i have NEVER ridden on a beach before and always dreamt of taking Angel there! oddly, now *i* will take appley and angel's new sharer will ride Angel!

basically avoid 2hours either said of high tide, though 1hr either side would prob be ok! low tide usually means the tide will be waaaaaaay out - the stick thing is far out - its not on the beach
