Anyone know anything about cacti?

We've had this one for around 30 years. It came from Baghdad (brought here by an old girlfriends then boyfriend, who was an Arab). For a couple of decades nothing happened. Now it flowers every few years. Very spectacular and beautiful. An interesting scent too. 90% sublime, 10% stench of something rotting...

Any clues welcome as to the type/name welcome!

My mother grows cactus plants - she has had one called Bod for about 27 years. I will get a proper look at this thread if my internet proper returns. Atm we are limping along with a mobile dongle, not good!
