Sorry if this question has been asked before , but there are so many on the market, and all claim to be a miracle cure for slipping saddles, I was curious as to other people's experiences and what worked.
I know of course a slipping saddle can be down to it not fitting correctly etc. That aside, let's assume that you are buying a new saddle, that has been fitted by a saddler and they have recommend a limpet pad just to help with any stability issues. For instance with a cob, there always tends to be movement to the side on mounting, it's just the way they are built!
I've recently come across this:
http://www.newequinewear.co.uk/products/details/29/
Bit like that non-slip shelf stuff you can get from DIY stores! Cost appears to be £8.50 for one pad. Apparently Jeanette Breakwell uses them.
Or the Barnsby Grip pad, are these a bit thick and could they compromise saddle fit? (Also quite pricey).
One internet site no longer used Limpet due to stocking issues, but recommend the following, about £18:
http://www.profchoice.com/htmldocs/prd/english/prd/ep702.html
OR there is the Prolite one:
http://www.prolitepads.com/products/reliefpads/saddlestay.htm
However, you would probably need two of these one under the saddle and another under the cloth.
The list is endless, with Geleeze etc.
What are your experiences and did they help?
Thanks
