And we’re there...

Yep hopefully we’ll make it a regular thing, once a month or so.

We ventured out to a park and ride today and met L&L there, he loaded and traveled really well, was very screamy until L&L arrived and was then very chilled about it all.

We had a lovely 2.5 hour ride in a bit of the forest I’ve only ridden a few times, so we were mostly navigating by feel.

We rarely see wide open spaces here but came alongside some big open fields and Monkey couldn’t care less, reassuring for our beach trip next week!

There was a lot going on when we got back, another lorry arriving and unloading, kids (with inflatable hobby horses and on bikes) and dogs, and he took it all in his stride 🤩 and he loaded in about 2 minutes, he did have a bit of a screaming, stamping tantrum as we left, but I’m fortunate that my friends trailer that I’m borrowing has a camera so I could keep an eye on him and he did settle after 10/15 minutes.

We’re off to the coast Thursday-Saturday, it will be the furthest I’ve travelled him (it’s only an hour) and I was feeling good about it until his little tantrum this afternoon, it rattled me a bit, I never used to mind fussy travellers, I’d just rather not be towing one alone but I’ve got to keep reminding myself he did settle and L&L will be on the road somewhere behind us too, so if there is any drama, help won’t be far away 🤞

Cracking day today, disappointed the weather was too bad to go up to the coast yesterday but we made the most of the better weather today.

We went about 30 minutes away to part of the forest that I’ve never ridden!

He loaded in seconds and travelled like a champ 🤩 and was pretty chilled when we arrived. The park and ride parking was right next to the yards school and his nemesis is horses charging around, and there was a very fizzy horse having a jumping lesson, so lots of bouncing around and poles clattering and Monkey just watched!!!

Then we headed out into the unknown 😁

He got a bit spunky in canter when I choked on a fly, my gagging made him spook 🤣 then we had to canter sideways for a while 😂

He was a little sticky to load on the way home, but it only took 5 minutes and he travelled really well again! Look at him all happy in the trailer!

Sorry you swallowed a fly, isn't it horrid! That happened to me the other week - yuk! He looks very happy in the trailer doesn't he.
