Alright, who else uses a monkey strap?

back to the origional topic....

I use one (I'm an adult). My daughter uses one (She show jumps). I went to a dressage demo last year and found out Anky uses them in training. With a pedigree like that I think you can safely say you're not weird!

I have one (got it from Annadresseur on ebay) on my treeless, it's handy for lots of things including the 'Oh crap' strap use, carrying the saddle and for when I had my (beginner) niece on and I was concentrating on her seat.

I don't use it because Anky uses it, she's the very last person that I want to emulate.

I feel so much better now, most people I know just use western or Aussie stock saddles if they need something to hang onto:rolleyes: I felt incredibly amateur with my monkey strap, but now I know I'm not alone and also that Kallista Field uses them too(my new Horse and Pony mag sub finally arrived!Yaya)

I have one and not bothered who sees it. Orginally had it for when my youngster threw her toys out of the pram and to stop me yanking her mouth, but funnily enough, since I put it on rarely use it and developed much more confidence in hacking out in open fields. If its good for me and my girl, then who cares if its not cool ?

gosh guys
why pay for our good old monkey grips when there's plenty of bailing twine around the place?? :p:p

^^^^^ before anyone goes off at me, it was a joke.

sillywhippet and i ride with them, do we care if theyre cool or not?

Thats the kind of thing I was using for ages before I discovered a use for all these flash straps, seeing as I have no other use for them! (I cut the attachments off my bridles...) My knots were never that good, and when I'm using it to help keep me with the movement, pulling up to force myself to sit straight, stretch my abs and relax my back, my knots would come undone:eek: Not a good feeling, like putting your foot on the brakes when you're driving, and having the pedal go to the floor!
