hope this is the right forum, but does anyone have any advice or tricks to improve my canter? i’ve been riding for about 7 years now but have only just got on to learning to canter since i’ve had afew confidence knocks over the years. any advice would be super helpful, thank you all!!🐴 x

Confidence knocks setting you back on something as specific as canter transitions is such a common story, seven years in and still working through that isn't a failure, it's just how it goes for a lot of riders. One thing that helped people I know is really nailing the seat and hip movement at trot first, since a wobbly seat tends to unsettle the horse right at the canter strike-off and can trigger exactly the kind of hesitant, choppy transition that erodes confidence further. Sending you loads of encouragement, hope you find your rhythm soon.
