2016.... Tracking Challenge( hours -ridden/inhand) add your photos as well

I can opt to do the shortest ride round about 8-9 km it will be the first time I have ridden Melody in company of others too.... eeeekkkks why do I do this to myself lol . I have absolutely no Idea how she will react in the company of horses she doesn't know.

Go for it!! I think you will have a great time and you can always dismount if you feel unsafe.
There is no shame in dismounting.

Can you ride out a bit with other people before then??

Jessey take a look at the certificates from last year and

tweek it and send me what we want to have on them now.

I am a bit confused we are now keeping ridden schooling and in hand schooling
separate from just ridden and in hand???
Yup ridden and in hand for each schooling and hacking

love your tack....... why is English tack so boring :(

I think that's what I like about the idea of "western dressage"
I am overall more comfortable western though.
and there is so much option for different looks.

I am glad that I saw on the back of one of my horse magazines they are coming back out with
a "Western hat helmet" this year
I want to get one when they are out.
Many years ago they had them.

First time out (did in the paddock yesterday) with the tyre behind and he didn't bat an eyelid, over gravel and on the road

My rides are so short atm due to the tendon but so far in 2016:

15 minutes brisk walk yesterday around the school just going large. She was good despite the Elmer Fudd character sporting a gun in the next field! And noseying at the new neighbours having a New Years day walk - complete with kids / dogs

15 minutes again today - feeling lots looser due to OH walking her in hand every morning for half an hour. Uneventful but I'm jolly grateful to be getting back on board. I'll take what rides I can:D

10 minute walk in hand in the driving rain, that was more than enough. Trying to beat my nerves of walking him down the lane, silly I don't trust him down there but good so far!

Going to try try try to hack on board tomorrow!

Totals
Hack in hand 20mins
Ridden school 25 mins

@horseandgoatmom I think I will get confused to be honest with splitting into more categories?
The reason why inhand included lunging and groundwork initially was to be able to include everyone who wasn't able to hack for whatever reason, confidence, no safe place, young horse, fitness.
If I ride I am schooling whether that's in a school, fields or out on the roads?

Finally got out for my first hack of the year..yipee it was raining but no gales so i thought i can cope with rain. We had a lovely hack and he had a couple of stubborn moments:rolleyes: but all in all he was good. I had my gopro cam on and recording the whole hack which was over an hour and a half so i made a short video of us for a laugh and to let you all see a bit of my area. I really really do need a hacking buddy as I think i am losing the plot, when i played it back i couldn't find any parts where i don't talk, i'm either humming, singing, whistiling, talking, telling him off or praising him....poor Marley what he has to put up with lol ...so enjoy :p
Total ridden 1 hr 30 mins :D

Love your video, joellie! What a good boy he is! He didn't bat an eye at the traffic!

Well, woo hoo! today was the big day (not yesterday as planned). I planted that acorn and got on Jaxen! :) No clue when he was last ridden so all I did was mount and dismount a few times while Hubby held the lead rope. He wanted to move off right away so the first order of business will be to learn to stand quietly. The farrier / dentist doesn't want me to put a bit in his mouth until she's done some dental work as he doesn't appear to have ever had any!

Look at his face, it's as if he's saying "Darn it! So this is what all that pampering has been leading up to!"

The session amounted to about 30 minutes as we did some walking around and up and down the mountain first.

Jaxen is such a cutie!!

I was very pleased she had more of a nice low headed "Sonny look"
Quiet and relaxed!!
and its one thing for her to ground tie in the round pen but very much of
another out in the train station- she was great and I had total confidence
she was going to stand til I asked her to move.
