I just joined this group yesterday as a bit of a cry for help having had a disastrous day one with our new pony (which in painful hindsight was entirely my faul!) I can honestly say after hearing from some lovely members my heart rate dropped and I know it will all come good!
I’m a mum of 2 having had a pony mad childhood but having never had my own and now having a daughter who is equally animal and horse mad finally bought our first pony Wilfred is a pretty 14.2 bay cob cross and the hope is he will be our forever pony that my daughter can do loads of fun stuff on and I can have some lovely hacks out on.
Wilf comes after a not so great trial purchase of a mare who was bargy and nappy and knocked all our confidence so went back, he arrived last Friday so we’re in our very early stages of getting to know him and settling him. Ive been watching and reading tips for training and bonding and it’s really reassuring to see and hear other people’s experiences particular when they come good, so hi and I’m glad to be part of this group
picture attached of Wilfred in his new coat which does not look like that now after 2 days
