Yesterday I found our cockerel out on the main yard - quite how he got there but he had overnighted the night before thankfully unscathed.
this morning one of the cream legbars is missing - we had three yesterday only 2 today, a young girl in first lay, sweet little hen. Can only hope she has gone broody somewhere. Will do the horses and have another look after. They have an enclosed run and i let them out into the yard beyond it and have fenced it so it should be secure. Sadly might have to re-consider and keep them in the enclosure but they really enjoy the front yard. i leave the gate on the picutre open and they can come out onto a big area with a greenhouse where they root around and sunbath and then there is a gate with wire above - to prevent flyers - so it is pretty secure. Wierd.
