I wonder whether the ski centre where the party was held charged mum for all the bookings so mum sent out an invoice to friends mum to recoup? If not I think it's ludicrous personally.

You choose to have the party and things happen!! And I don't have kids but I would think 5 yr olds can pop up sick quite quickly?? Causing a no show??

Apparently the parent gave the "invoice" to their child to put in the bag of the child at school that didn't show which in itself is very childish and underhand.

Spiteful and silly. She would have had to pay if the kid turned up or not, so she's not actually out of pocket. And the deal was that she only had to pay for the ones who did turn up, then she should have told the other parents on the invitations. Total non-story.
