Hello everybody

I am planing to build a round pen and work my new horse there. I wonder whats your oppinion in wood better as fencing or metal? What are the pros and cons?

Depends what sort of work/horses you’ll be working with? Wood breaks if they pile into it, panels will move/go over, but if you’re only working with seasoned horses that’s no concern, unlike if you’re working mustangs fresh off the range. Metal is easier if you need to move it or resize it. I personally prefer the look of rustic pole fencing.

I also like the look of a rustic pole.
But mine are metal fence panels.

Like Jessey said the metal panels are easy to resize or move.
They also go up quickly and easily..

Putting in posts in specific places can be a problem if your ground is rocky and has ledge..
You can tweak distance on a fence line etc with posts
But a round pen really needs consistent distance.
